BSU Careers in Health Application

Application Timeline 2023-2024

Applications are will open May 5th 2024 for the 2024-2025 academic year. Students must be admitted to Bowie State University prior to applying to this program. This program is designed for current students including incoming freshmen. Late applications may be considered on a case-by-case basis,for new/transfer students. Please reach out to the Interim BSU Careers in Health program coordinator (dgriffinblake@bowiestate.edu) with any questions.

Application Opens: May 5th 2024

Application Closes: July 24th 2024

Zoom Interviews: August 1st 2024 - August 8th 2024

  • If chosen to progress, students will receive an email to sign-up for an interview slot from the BSU Careers in Health Program Coordinator between July 25th - July 28th

Decisions to student emails: August 15th 2024

Eligibility Requirements

  • 3.0 cumulative GPA or 3.0 GPA in the previous semester
  • Earn an A or a B in required courses at time of application (Please find required courses below)
    • NOTE: Students who have only taken some courses on the aforementioned list at time of application are more than welcome to apply! The only requirement is that students have earned an A or B in those courses at time of application. The list of required courses denotes all courses Bowie Med students will have taken by graduation.
    • C's will be considered on a case-by-case basis
  • Display a commitment to a career in medicine or allied health
  • Show a variety of interests in extracurricular activities
  • Must be a full-time student at Bowie State University (be enrolled in 12 or more credits)
