We are excited to announce that our Tutoring Center has a new name — one that reflects our expanded commitment to student growth and achievement. Alongside personalized academic support, the Science Learning Laboratory now offers success planning, focused study spaces for students, progress tracking and accountability, informative webinars, and effective learning support to help every learner thrive.

or naturalsciencestutoring@bowiestate.eduProfessor Tigran Ananian is an educator with long-term expertise as an instructional designer, trained biotechnology and research/develo p.m. ent manager in STEM, EdTech, eLearning, content building, curriculum design, digital pedagogy, biotechnology, genetics, chemistry, marketing, law, and intellectual property.
His passion is teaching biology and chemistry in traditional and modern modalities, and his portfolio of teaching aids, manuals, and learning resources for these subjects is unmatched. a.m. ong other things, he enjoys creating computer-based training (CBT) modules and storyboards by ADDIE and identifying big-scope trends in education. He has worked previously for several institutions to modernize their biotechnology, chemistry, biology and genetics courses, and has adapted these for pre-medical students as well as non-majors.

or naturalsciencestutoring@bowiestate.eduProfessor John Sesay graduated with a Master of Science Degree in neuropharmacology of opiates and memory in both rodents and non-human primates from Wake Forest School of Medicine. His research was on tracking the changes in hippoc a.m. pal population nonlinear dyn a.m. ics in rats learning a memory-dependent task. He furthered my education at St. George's University School of Medicine and gained a comprehensive understanding of basic and clinical sciences.
Since joining the faculty of Natural Sciences at Bowie State University, his research and teaching have been dedicated to enhancing students' experiments with scientific processes, nurturing their skills, and inspiring them to excel in biomedical and biotechnology fields and pursue higher education.
Teaching and laboratory research are his passions. At Bowie State University, Professor Sesay teaches various biological Science courses, including anatomy and physiology, and serves as a lead tutor.

Landing the highly coveted Graduate Assistant position at BSU, he jointly serves the Department of Natural Sciences as a Lead Tutor in Physics and the Entrepreneurship Innovation Center. He also serves as a Progr a.m. Assistant for the Course-based Undergraduate Research Experiences (CURE) progr a.m. .
Having moved to Maryland from Michigan, he was not quite sure of what to expect from such a transition, but he is now extremely grateful to have landed on Bowie soil for an extraordinary journey. Prior to joining Bowie, he was in the workforce where he worked as a product manager for a company called Hubject.
Hermann is a husband and a proud father of two. He thanks God every day for giving him and his f a.m. ily the opportunity to have Bowie State University as part of their story. When he is not spending time with his f a.m. ily or on c a.m. pus, you can spot Hermann on the soccer field, watching TV, and/or adding more value to himself by reading or learning a skill on Udemy or Coursera. Hermann also speaks French, so you can brush up on your French while practicing Physics problems.

or naturalsciencestutoring@bowiestate.eduDr. Niangoran Koissi comes to Bowie State University with extensive expertise in BioOrganic Chemistry, specifically on the chemistry of key intermediates that mediate the biological effects of mutagenic and carcinogenic nitros a.m. ines, Dr. Koissi received his PhD from the University of Turku, in Turku, Finland, and conducted postdoctoral studies at the University of Maryland Baltimore County. a.m. ong other very cool credentials, Dr. Koissi holds a certificate in International Bio Business Education for Scientists, pairing his scientific know-how with an entrepreneurial mindset. Dr. Koissi’s major contribution has been in the develo p.m. ent of new methods for various nucleoside crosslink standards synthesis, their characterizations and derivatizations. Dr. Koissi has also done extensive work in curriculum develo p.m. ent and several projects in STEM pedagogy and STEM education, entrepreneurship and other synergistic co-curricular activities. Dr. Koissi is always willing to chat with people and lend a helping hand. Teaching and making science come alive for students are two of his passions.
