About the Director

Mr. Jost has been employed at Bowie State University since June 1990, and has served as the director of procurement since 1998.

Mr. Jost was a member of the procurement committee that developed the current University System of Maryland (USM) Procurement Policies and Procedures, which were implemented in February 2000.

Mr. Jost represents the University on procurement matters before the Maryland Board of Public Works (BPW), which consists of the governor, state comptroller, and treasurer. The BPW approvals all University construction and service-related procurements that exceed $500,000.

Mr. Jost has been the lead procurement officer on numerous USM procurements, which have benefited each of the 11 system universities. The procurements have resulted in the award of contracts for computer hardware, software, and services.

Outside of higher education, Mr. Jost has served as a buyer for Levenson & Klein, a large Maryland-based home furnishings retailer. In addition, Mr. Jost has worked as a procurement specialist for national retailer Montgomery Ward.

Mr. Jost's professional affiliations include the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing and the Maryland Public Purchasing Association.
