Artificial Intelligence for Business

Pre-requisites

Basic IT literacy skills

Course description and objectives

Artificial Intelligence (AI) provides the science behind machine learning, gaming, logic and inference, and knowledge representation. Systems are created that can classify, predict, and make recommendations based on structured and unstructured data. AI is changing the global workforce and our everyday lives. It allows developers to create programs that give society two very different views. Is Siri smart and helpful or guilty of invading one’s privacy?  Are self-driving cars a “blessing” or a “curse”? Will people continue to control robots, or will robots teach themselves to control people?  In this course, we will explain how AI techniques and algorithms that power complex systems provide solutions to real world problems.

Specific Objectives:

  • Understand the history and evolution of AI
  • Explain how AI systems understand, reason, learn, and interact
  • Learn how industry’s experience on AI use cases
  • Develop a deeper understanding of machine learning (ML) techniques and the algorithms that power those systems
  • Explore systems that understand language and those that understand vision
  • Understand basic concepts of Design Thinking
  • Propose solutions to real world scenarios leveraging AI methodologies and technologies
