Graduate Spotlights

Our latest graduating class is a testament to the ambition and excellence that define Bowie State University. These graduates are scholarship recipients, innovators, artists, educators and future healthcare professionals, each forging their own paths with confidence and purpose. Many are stepping into competitive graduate programs, leadership roles in their industries and service opportunities that impact communities both locally and globally. Their dedication, resilience and Bowie Bold mindset have inspired others around them. We celebrate their hard work as they carry our legacy forward into new challenges and opportunities.

Spring 2026

Debra Lee '26

When Debra Lee decided to pursue her doctoral degree, she chose a university she had long admired. Growing up in Baltimore City, she held Bowie State University in high regard as Maryland’s first HBCU. She chose the online doctoral program in educational leadership for its emphasis on leadership, research and service, and for her longstanding commitment to education. Now residing in York, Pennsylvania, Lee is graduating with a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and plans to pursue opportunities in higher education and education policy.

Jared Achuff '26

 Jared Achuff came to Bowie State University with one year of athletic eligibility remaining, but he found opportunities that extended far beyond football. Achuff initially chose Bowie State to continue his football career, but the university’s community-centered approach to student-athlete development quickly broadened his experience and shaped his academic and professional path. He is graduating with a Master of Arts in organizational Communications and plans to pursue graduate studies and athlete advocacy.

Elijah Jordan '26

When Elijah Jordan first connected with Bowie State University, it was through the football recruiting process. He immediately felt a strong sense of belonging and purpose that compelled him to enroll, and even after shifting his focus away from athletics, his connection to Bowie State University remains strong. Jordan is now graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Health Services Administration and is actively pursuing physician assistant programs. He plans to eventually enlist in the United States Air Force.

Jordan Chadwick '26

Jordan Chadwick recognized early that Bowie State University was the right fit for him. After attending a high school computer camp on Bowie State’s campus, he immediately connected with the university’s environment and opportunities. That connection continued during the college application process, when he took an unconventional path to admission. This spring, he will graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and is already building a career in public service. After graduation, Chadwick plans to continue his work in public policy and legislation.

Runor Agarin '26

When Runor Agarin began his journey at Bowie State University, he was looking for a challenging program that would help him grow as a leader. He chose Bowie State for its strong focus on entrepreneurship and is now graduating with a Bachelor of Science in business administration with a concentration in management. He is currently applying to graduate programs to pursue an MBA while continuing to coach youth athletes.

Naomi English '26

Naomi English came to Bowie State University with a clear sense of purpose and a desire to serve. Inspired by her father’s career in the Marine Corps, she pursued leadership and military training through Junior ROTC in high school before continuing her journey through Bowie State’s ROTC program while earning a Master of Science in information systems. After graduation, she will commission as a second lieutenant in the United States Army, reflecting Bowie State’s commitment to developing leaders prepared to serve and protect their communities.
