Student Health at the Henry Wise Wellness Center
We offer primary care services in a supportive and compassionate environment. Accessibility and confidentiality are central to our mission.
Like a doctor's office or small clinic, we are an ambulatory facility that treats routine illnesses and minor injuries.
If you are a full-time or part-time undergraduate or graduate student, you can be treated at the Wellness Center. If you're under 18, a signed parental consent form is required for all services, except for emergency and reproductive health services.
Take Advantage of Our On-Campus Services
Being proactive about your health is the smart thing to do. At the Henry Wise Wellness Center, you can receive routine tests and schedule annual exams. We encourage you to attend all appointments, meet your primary care provider and seek mental health counseling.
Be Sure to Maintain Current Vaccines
Bowie State University requires that certain vaccination requirements are up to date to be eligible for enrollment. Be sure to check your records and compare them to our list of immunization requirements. You can find health forms here.
Get to Know Campus Health Insurance
Bowie State encourages all students to maintain health insurance coverage. Having health insurance decreases your risk of accruing healthcare-related debt. If you do not have healthcare coverage, you can sign up for individual coverage under the Affordable Care Act through the Maryland Health Connection, the state-based health insurance marketplace.
