Data Science Major

Companies in every industry are looking for professionals to gather valuable insight and solve complex problems that will propel their businesses, and with a bachelor’s degree in data science you’ll have the skills to meet those needs.
Bowie State’s data science program prepares students for high-level jobs and graduate study by mastering mathematics, statistics, computer science, and core data science concepts such as machine learning, deep learning, and data mining. You will:
- Analyze a complex computing problem and apply principles of computing and other relevant disciplines to identify solutions.
- Design, implement, and evaluate a computing-based solution to meet a given set of computing requirements in the context of the program’s discipline.
- Make informed judgments in computing practice based on legal and ethical principles.
- Utilize theory, techniques, and tools throughout the data science lifecycle to make informed business decisions.
