Concentrations

The Department of Fine and Prerforming Arts offers three Concentrations for Fine Arts Majors. Through these programs, students gain expertise in specific areas of Fine Arts to become adequately prepared for life after graduation.

Art (Studio) Concentration

Starting with basic principles of design that include shape, texture and composition, graduates of the art concentration leave the program able to develop and produce their own concepts from start to finish.

Music Concentration

The music concentration provides a solid foundation in theory and performance of instrumental and vocal music. Students must complete an audition and placement exam before being accepted into the program.

Music Technology Concentration

Students in the music technology concentration master electronic music arrangement and composition, notation and sequencing, multimedia production, and recording. The program also lays the groundwork in music theory and history to develop a deeper understanding of music styles and genres.
