Summer Computer Science Applications Cyber Security Component

Cesar Cypher and SQL Injection Labs

Middle School and High School Students participated in the activities. The camp has been in existence for two summers and worked with a total of 27 students. The students successfully implemented an SQL Injection Lab Experiment and implemented a Secret Key Encryption Lab Experiment using the Cesar Cypher Method. The partners for the Computer Science Applications camp are Boeing Analytics and Intelligence and Wegmans. The camp field trip list includes NSA, NIST, and other security related entities. Summer 2020, there will be a Cyber Security and Encryption Camp to compliment the current applications camp.

CyberDay 2019

About 150 students, faculty and industry and federal partners attended the event.

Cyber Maryland Conference

Two students have been sent to CyberMaryland conference every year since 2015, supported by NSF LUCID grant. This year, 26 students will be attending the CyberMaryland conference.

Girls Who Will (GWW) Summer Camp

This is a summer program for middle and high school girls that provides computer technology/science education to girls in the Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia areas. Faculty Mentor: Velma Latson (Assistant Professor, Department of Technology & Security).

Computer Programming for Youth (CPU) Boys Camp

This is a summer program for middle and high school boys that provide computer technology/science education to boys in the Washington, D C, Maryland, and Virginia areas. Faculty Mentor: Daryl Stone (Assistant Professor, Department of Technology & Security).

Summer camp provides middle and high school students with the opportunity to explore the world of computer security.
