Opportunities for Upperclassmen
From mentoring to problem-based learning, Engaged Learning & Student Support (ELSS) offers opportunities for undergraduates to learn, grow, and transform. Explore the many possibilities below.
- Academic, personal, and leadership development
Defined as students whose parents or guardians did not receive a bachelor's degree, first-generation students are leaders and trail blazers. We understand the gravity of this undertaking and support them by demystifying college processes and providing academic and personal support. Services include academic support, cultural outings, and more.
- Mentoring and leadership opportunities
We partner high achieving upperclassmen with first-year students to help them navigate the college experience.
- Jobs for currently enrolled students and recent graduates
We hire tutors, supplemental instructors, mentors, office assistants, and graphic design interns throughout the year. Visit our employment page for details.
- Stand-alone events that connect students with current issues
Engage! offers live and virtual opportunities for students to connect with big questions and current ideas. Most topics fall under the themes of civic engagement, social justice, and entrepreneurship/innovation. All BSU students are welcome to participate.
