SECU MD Foundation Scholarships
Maryland community college students looking to transfer to any public Maryland Institution or who have done so in the past 18 months qualify for a $10,000 scholarship from the SECU MD Foundation. We are giving away 20 scholarships in 2026 to celebrate our 20th year of scholarship at SECU!
Applications are open Feb. 17 – May 1, 2026. Winners will be announced in June.
To qualify for the award, you must be:
- A Maryland resident
- A SECU member in good standing (joining is easy in about five minutes)
- A current Maryland community college student who is transferring to a public Maryland college/university, or who has done so in the past 18 months
- Attending a public Maryland college/university for the 2026-27 academic year.
There are no major or GPA requirements for this scholarship.

Board of Regents Student Excellence Scholarships
The University System of Maryland (USM) is the state’s public higher education system consisting of 12 institutions and 3 regional higher education centers spread across the state of Maryland. American Nurses Foundation Nurse Scholars Program
This scholarship, sponsored by the United Health Foundation, provides tuition assistance to traditional or non-traditional ADN, BSN, or RN to BSN students (with no less than two full years of study remaining before graduation).Students with a GPA of 3.5 (or higher) at the time of application are eligible to apply for a total of $10,000 ($5,000 per year for a 2-year period, if eligibility is maintained) in financial support.

Bowie Metropolitan Alumni Chapter (BMAC) Academic Scholarship
The BMAC scholarship will be awarded to a deserving high school graduate, GED recipient who has applied and been accepted at Bowie State University or a candidate who is currently a full-time student. The amount to be awarded is $500 and can only be used in the applicable semester. The scholarship may be used for tuition, housing books or university expenses.
