The Academic Advisement Center (AAC) at Bowie State University is committed to assisting students in identifying and completing their educational goals in a friendly, helpful, and professional environment. The Center’s professional advisors deliver services to all students at the University, but they focus primarily on the advisement, development, and retention of first and second-year students.

Effective December 12, 2023, the Academic Advising Center will transition to walk-in virtual advising, an appointment is not required. You may join our Blackboard Advising Room to receive immediate assistance during operating hours.

About the Academic Advising Center
The Academic Advising Center advises students having earned less than 60 credits in most majors. Students in the following majors are required to schedule academic advising appointments with an advisor within their academic department:
- Computer Science
- Technology and Security
- Language, Literature and Cultural Studies
- Nursing
- Social Work
- Education (including ELEM, ECED, SPM)
Students having earned 60 or more credits must schedule an academic advising appointment with their department.
