The Office of International Education & Student Services prepares Bowie State students to study abroad and welcomes international students as they study here. We strive to provide a supportive environment that offers peer support as you work to culturally diversify your education. We celebrate various learning activities and introduce you to all types of global awareness and educational opportunities available throughout the campus community.
Our goal is to strengthen Bowie State University's global engagement initiative by helping you experience different learning and research opportunities from diverse communities worldwide.

If you are an international student looking to enter the United States as a full-time student with a full course load, here's information on the process.
Study Abroad
Apply to the study abroad program to experience new cultures in different countries. Our students have studied in Mexico, Cuba, Costa Rica, England, Germany, Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, China, and Japan. Where will you go?
Study Away
Not ready to leave the country? The study away program sends you to a new city within the borders of the United States and Canada. Explore a new location without the commitment of moving. You can spend a semester studying in Miami, LA, New York, or another major city in the United States.

About the Office
Bowie State University’s Office of International Education & Student Services (OIESS) recruits and supports international students and scholars; collaborates with international partners; connects students with internship and research opportunities abroad; facilitates international travel for faculty and staff; and assists with developing a globally competent campus community.
